Materials: pink, yellow, and blue markers or highlighters, paper Number of Participants: 3 Time Estimate: about 10 minutes

This exercise is about overlapping and connection. Participants will draw a chain of connecting circles on a piece of paper, making sure the ends of the circles are intertwined. The colors will create visual competition throughout the final piece. Participants will all draw simultaneously for 10 minutes to create the artwork.

Instructions:

if ( you are the first participant)
then { use the pink marker and draw circles of varying sizes }

if ( you draw a circle and the starting point and ending point overlap )
then { draw another circle ecompassing the intersection of beginning and ending points }

if ( you run off the paper )
then { start drawing in a different area }

if ( you are the second participant)
then { use a yellow marker and repeat steps 2 and 3 }

if ( you are the third participant )
then { use a blue marker and repeat steps 2 and 3 }
